Our purpose is to obey Jesus Christ by proclaiming His Gospel and making disciples from all nations.  By the teaching of Biblical truth, we will help disciples grow: in love for God through worship and prayer, in unity as a church through fellowship, and in concern for those who need Christ, through witness and service.

Opportunities for Worship and Prayer

At Community Church we believe that the focus of our worship is exalting and glorifying God. Because we believe that He can be praised using many musical styles, our worship involves contemporary and traditional music led by a rotating team of worship leaders.

Sunday services include a time of congregational prayer. Our Care Groups offer opportunities for more in-depth sharing and praying together. We also have a prayer chain ministry to alert the congregation to special prayer needs that arise during the week.

Opportunities to Serve the Church Family

At Community Church, we believe that every member has an important role to play in the body of Christ.  We want to help you identify your gifts, experiences, desires, abilities, and personality so that you can find a place to minister where you are fulfilled and your abilities are maximized.  Some of the places where volunteers are always needed: nursery, children and youth classes, worship/music team, audio/visual team, ushers, and special event planning and set-up.

Opportunities for Service to our Community

Serving at the Brian CenterWe realize that our church is a part of a community. It is our strong belief that the greatest service that we can provide to another person is to explain to them how they can have peace with God. For that reason, we work hard to find ways to meet the needs of those around us. Starting September 22, 2013, our new Community Outreach Groups will begin meeting regularly to brainstrom and plan ways to serve our community. These groups will focus on recent immigrants, the elderly, the poor and needy, youth and children, and those with construction/repair needs. We are excited about this opportunity to build bridges to our community and show God's love to the people around us.

Every other month our people prepare and serve a meal at the Union County Shelter--more volunteers are always welcome! We regularly offer service projects within the community, and we take a special "Good Samaritan" offering every month for the express purpose of helping those outside our body. Groups and indiviuals regularly visit the residents at the nearby Brian Center. We also have a ministry to prison inmates at two prisons--praying for them, supporting them by sending Bibles and books, and visiting them to share God's good news with them.

Opportunities to Impact Our World

One of the strengths of Community Church is our commitment to world missions. Prayer for missionaries and world concerns are an important part of our Sunday morning worship services. We encourage our church members to pray, to give sacrificially to meet the financial needs of those who do go, and to be willing to serve through vocational and short-term assignments where they are needed. As a church we financially support 10 missionary families and the local HELP Crisis Pregnancy Center.

Opportunities for Relationships

Coming to a new church or a new town necessitates making new friends. Rather than be a sanctuary of strangers, we look for ways to help you form friendship that will help you in your spiritual growth. Our Sunday Morning Care Groups are a unique way to get to know a small group of people. Many have found that the Care Group provides a place of belonging within Community Church. Care Groups often meet together for informal meals or meet for some special activity like a movie night or baseball game. Our Men's Ministries events include taking in a ball game together, doing a service project, occasional Saturday morning breakfasts, and special activities with our youth and children. Our Women’s Ministries regularly host special meals and parties that bring women closer together. They also encourage involvement through various service projects, and also the H.E.L.P. Center.  In addition, small groups of men and women meet weekly or bi-weekly, providing a casual, intimate setting for sharing and encouraging each other.

Special events will be posted under the Special Events tab in the left hand column.

Opportunities to Study God’s Word / Teaching Biblical Faith

Believing in the importance of God's Word, we provide opportunities for people of all ages to study the Bible, learn what it says, and find ways to apply Biblical principles in our lives.

On Sunday mornings we offer a unique opportunity to go deeper into God's Word than simply just hearing the sermon. Following the worship we offer Care Groups, small groups of ten to fifteen adults who pray and discuss the topic of that morning’s sermon. Care groups enable us to go deeper into God's Word and to minister to each other through the combined wisdom of the entire Body of Christ.

Special seminars are offered from time to time for intensive study. We have a quality library which provides Christian books, videos, and magazines to encourage spiritual growth. Our Root Cellar Tape Ministry provides audio tapes of our pastor’s teaching and special programs for you to take home. Recent sermons can be heard online.
