Who is Community Church of Monroe (CEFC)?
We are an Evangelical Free Church Congregation.
Our Distinctives
We are a part of the Evangelical Free Church of America. That name describes who we are:
Evangelical -- We hold certain basic Christian beliefs: the deity of Christ, salvation by faith in Christ, and the inerrancy and authority of the Bible.
Free -- We are congregational in church government. While we are one of over 1,000 Evangelical Free Churches nationally, we are free to determine our own direction, apart from outside dictates.
Our Mission is to:
1. Glorify God, and
2. Build His Kingdom.
Our Vision is to:
be a community of believers growing and developing in our walk with Christ so that through relationships we can recognize the needs of others and meet those needs through God's grace and the hope found in Jesus.
Our Biblical Worldview
Living in a biblical world view starts with God. God exists and reigns over all His creation. God wants a relationship with us, so He made this possible through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Our sinful nature and demonic forces are constantly at work to break this relationship. As we come to God in prayer, the power of the Holy Spirit provides us understanding and proper application of the Word of God to our lives. This Word reveals truth about ourselves and informs how we should live in relationship with God and others. As the Holy Spirit transforms us, and as we become more like Christ, we take on His characteristics and priorities, and are empowered to impact the world. This is a high calling and a difficult challenge.
