From the Pastor
I find myself in a strange situation these days. While the end of my ministry at Community Church is coming at the end of May, I still have a great desire to see this church grow and flourish. That involves planning and carrying out outreaches which bring people to our church.
One of last year’s best outreaches was our Spring Egg Hunt. Many of you remember all the children who came and participated. The Egg Hunt worked because you all pitched in. Last year I was able to give leadership to this event because my library schedule worked out perfectly. This year it has not and I won’t be available on either March 11 or 18, which are the two best Sundays for the hunt. That means that you will need to decide if you would like to have an Egg Hunt in 2018 and if so, someone needs to step up and take leadership.
I intend to do a lot of the behind the scenes work ahead of time, but we will need an on-site coordinator in addition to all of the other volunteers needed to make this event work. I would be happy to meet with whoever signs up and do all I can to make sure that their job is as easy as possible.
Starting tomorrow (Tuesday) I’ll be sending out a Signup Genius email to determine your interest. Please indicate your desire to have the Egg Hunt by signing up for one or more of the many positions. If you don’t respond I will take that as a vote for not having the Egg Hunt at this time. Please respond (or don’t) to this email by February 23 so we can plan accordingly.
Thanks,
RB
