From the Pastor

The story is told of two modern-day cowboys named Sam and Jed.  One day while in town they read a flyer put out by the government of one of the western states that advertised a bounty of $5000 for each wolf that was captured alive so it could be repopulated to that state. That flyer turned Sam and Jed into fortune hunters and they scoured the mountains and forests looking for their valuable prey.

Exhausted one night, they fell asleep dreaming of their potential fortune. Suddenly Sam woke up and saw that they were surrounded by about fifty wolves, all with their eyes blazing red and their teeth bared.  Sam nudged his friend and said, “Jed, wake up! We’re rich!”

What an attitude! Maybe, like so many people today, you too are surrounded by wolves in your lives, problems that threaten you on every side. How do you respond to those things? It’s easy to worry, to try to take matters into our own hands, or perhaps to just give up hope. The Bible gives us another option. It tells us “in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

God’s still at work in our lives and the wolves always serve to further His purposes.

Think about that,
