THINK ABOUT THIS AND THAT

John Piper once said, “Sin is what you do when your heart is not satisfied with God.” That is a sobering thought.  I might add that temptation is Satan’s way to make you dissatisfied with God. On Sunday we will explore the topic of temptation: what it is and how we can withstand it with God’s help.  Please read James 1:13-18 in preparation.

I have good news from Carolinas Medical Center. Dave Catherman has been upgraded to a 3 on his responsiveness (answered prayer!) and Leslie will be deciding on a rehab center for him this week. It was a month ago that Dave had his accident and God has brought him a long way during that time.  Please continue to pray for Dave’s recovery.

One of the longest running outreach ministries of our church has been our ministry to the homeless through the Monroe Shelter.  At the end of the year Rich Marcello is retiring as ministry coordinator of  this ministry.  We are looking for someone who has empathy for the poor and can schedule and recruit workers 8-9 times a year to provide a meal.  If you are interested please contact me at your earliest convenience.
