Think About This

Next Monday our nation celebrates Labor Day.  It is a day we recognize the hard work that so many people have put in. Crown Ministries estimates that over a 50-year span, the average American spends about 100,000 hours working.  Genesis 2:15 tells us that “The Lord God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to cultivate it and keep it.” Work was a blessing, not a curse.

Many people look at jobs only as a way to make money, but they are also service to the Lord. Colossians 3:23 reminds us that "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men." When you do your job, in the office or in the home, or in the school, or wherever, you are ultimately working for the Lord.

So this weekend when you take your day of rest, remember that your ultimate boss is the Lord.

Think about that,
